The gear database is the source data behind the calculators, published on its own so you can read it directly rather than only through a tool.
Every figure is transcribed from the manufacturer’s own product page, published specification sheet, or owner’s manual — not from retailer listings, not from other publications, not from aggregator databases. Every row links to the source it came from. The measurement conditions travel with the number, because the conditions are what make a specification mean anything.
It carries one column no manufacturer publishes: a comparable sensitivity figure, converted to a common basis of 1 watt at 1 metre in full space. That conversion is arithmetic rather than opinion, and you can check it yourself — subtract 10·log₁₀(8.0089 ÷ nominal impedance) from any 2.83 V figure, and subtract a further 3 dB from a half-space one.
Gaps are recorded as gaps. A specification we could not find on a manufacturer source is marked unavailable and never estimated. Currently unpublished: Klipsch and Yamaha US pricing, NAD’s pre-out data, Arcam’s pre-out channel count, Revel’s frequency response tolerance, and every 4-ohm rating except Onkyo’s, NAD’s and Arcam’s. You can filter the table to show only the entries with unpublished fields. Anthem is absent entirely, because its specification pages returned errors and we would not publish its power ratings from a retailer listing.
